Ruling the face of evil: Minions movie

Before encountering their current evil boss Gru, the minions spent generations trying to find a leader to follow. This movie is a depiction of the lengths that three of the minions, Kevin Stuart and Bob, went to in order to secure their master of evil.

After a long journey, Kevin, Stuart and Bob wind up laying in a department store bed in New York watching an ad on television for Villain-Con, a convention in Orlando Florida,  where super villains from all over the world to gather.

The ad for Villain-Con specifically mentioned Scarlett Overkill, the world's first female super villain. From this point on, the minions make it their mission to meet Scarlett and become her henchmen.

Along the way however, Kevin, Stuart and Bob encounter trouble and they must use everything they know to get themselves out of it.

This movie is perfect for children and adults of all ages. It's cute, funny and has the perfect dose of "evil." What I loved about it was that it didn't drag, the plot moved a long quick and had me wanting more at the end. The writers left room for a great sequel.

I would definitely see this movie again. Go on, give it a try!

4 Paws Up for Max

It's true what they say: dogs are a man's best friend and Max is a definite validation of that theory.

This touching movie tells the story of a military dog, Max who's trainer and best friend, Kyle was killed while serving in Afghanistan.

After he lost Kyle, Max began to suffer from PTSD, until he encountered Kyle's younger brother Justin, who's a bit troubled himself. But the two soon find out the true meaning of the word friendship. The story shows the consistent development of the bond between Max and Justin.

This movie gives proof of how intelligent and highly motivated dogs are when it comes to their masters. Throughout the movie we see just how protective Max is of Justin.

I recommend this film to people of all ages. It has a great story and a combination of drama, comedy and even romance. As the title of this post states, 4 paws up for Max.

Spy: A Great Hilarity and Action Combo

Melissa Mccarthy gives her best performance yet in this action packed comedy, co-starring Jude Law, Jason Statham and Rose Bryne.

Mccarthy plays Susan Cooper, the right hand woman to successful spy Bradley Fine, until he is brutally murdered by the target of one of their missions. Now it is up to Cooper to go undercover and avenge his death, though her boss only expected her to track and report the actions of their target.

What I liked about this movie is that Mccarthy was finally given the opportunity to flaunt her beauty unlike most of her other films in which she is given clothes that makes her look more manly. I also found that her character had the personality similar to that of Molly Flynn from the hit CBS comedy Mike & Molly.

I also liked the fact that this movie had great flow; it didn't drag and there were constant laughs and surprises along the way. This movie was definitely worth the money to go to the theater. I recommend it to anyone.

A Perfect Rendition of the Classic Cinderella

For any girl who feels the desire to escape the realms of her own reality, this 2015 re-working of the classic Cinderella is the film to see.

Every aspect of this film was spot on; from the plot to the character portrayal and costume designs. I especially loved the casting. Lily James for example was an exceptional choice for the role of Cinderella; she was the perfect combination of elegant and innocent.

Cate Blanchett was also absolutely fantastic with her performance as the evil stepmother; she was spot on with her deceitfulness and frigid personality.

There have been several adaptions to the 1950 film, most of which were modernized to resemble real life but I think it's great that someone thought to recreate the first film while maintaining the original concept.

This movie is not only enjoyable for children of all ages but also for adults of all ages. I myself went with my grandmother and mom (who saw the film originally with her boyfriend.) I would  recommend this movie to all of my friends and family members. You will thoroughly enjoy it.

A Plus for The Duff

Mae Whitman, known for her role as Amber Holt on the hit NBC series Parenthood, has made a new name for herself in this tale of high school scrutiny.

The Duff tells the story of high school tom-boy Bianca whose entire high school existence rests on her two beautiful and popular best friends Jess and Casey. It's only after an encounter with her gorgeous athlete neighbor Wesley, that Bianca comes to the harsh realization that she is her best friends' Duff- Designated Ugly Fat Friend. It is from this moment that she enlists Wesley's help to find her high school identity.

When I first heard about this movie and what the name stood for, I wasn't sure how I would feel about it but I love Mae Whitman and was interested to see her outside of her comfort zone as Amber Holt. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was literally laughing from beginning to end, mostly because the movie was so relatable to the everyday high school experience.

The character I most closely related was Bianca. She was an aspiring writer who did not try to conform to everyone's expectations but instead owned her unique style. I think everyone who sees this film can relate to at least one character from it.

I don't usually say this in my reviews but when this movie comes to DVD, I am definitely going to buy it! Go See This Film.

Must see action thriller: Taken 3

Liam Neeson is an absolute rock star in the action packed thriller Taken 3 where he resumes his role as the brooding Bryan Mills.

The story continues by presenting Bryan with a new obstacle to overcome: the death of his ex wife Lenore and to make matters worse, he is being framed for the murder and hunted down by the police.

Throughout the movie, Bryan works diligently to avenge Lenore's death and prove his innocence. Of course, he's not alone in this mission, he has the kickass instincts of his daughter Kim and a team of old friends who are willing to put their butts on the line for him.

What I liked about this movie was that it was unpredictable and had an unexpected outcome. It also had a great ending, which alluded to the possibility of Taken 4.

I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who loves action and suspense.

Keanu Reeves is a dark mystery: John Wick

I am not usually one for straight up action  movies but I must say  Keanu Reeves was the perfect combination of sexy and brooding in John Wick, a movie of never ending action.

Reeves plays John Wick, a retired hit man who just lost his wife, the woman who helped him walk away from his life of crime. All he had left of her were memories and a puppy that was delivered to him a shortly after her death. However, everything changes when a group of men break into his home, steal his car and murder the one thing he had left of his wife.

Throughout the movie, we see the lengths that John Wick goes to in order to bring those punks to justice. In the process of hunting them down, he reacquaints with old friends and old enemies who try to make his job just a little bit harder.

What I liked about this movie is that the story did not drag, it had great flow, a great plot and an ending that tied everything together. I would definitely recommend this movie and pay to see it again.
A Plus!!
